The Project
A new solar roof has been installed in this renovation project. The red-orange solar panels are seamlessly integrated between the Nelskamp roof tiles. A distinctive feature of the 1.5 m wide solar panels is the small vertical black stripes, which reinforce the visual resemblance to the joints (shadow lines) between traditional orange roof tiles. The position of these lines is precisely aligned with the roof tiles.
The project consists of more than 500 solar panels with a yield of approximately 50 kWp. In Germany, these terracotta solar panels are often used on both historical and modern buildings, where their appearance adds significant value. This project was realized in 2025 in collaboration with Dachziegelwerke Nelskamp GmbH and SOLINSO B.V.
