The facade of a Berko hall consists of a sheet pile profile in umbra gray, RAL7022. Soluxa can produce panels in a virtually identical color using its patented Vibrant color technology.
A unique aspect of this project is that the panels are installed not only on the south facade, but also on the east and west facades. For a building like this, this nearly triples the available surface area compared to the roof. This allows for significantly more electricity generation. Moreover, a combination of different orientations results in a more consistent generation profile throughout the day, which better matches energy consumption.
What makes this project unique is that it's an industrial building, a type where aesthetics are typically subordinate to functionality. Yet, Berko consciously chose to transform the factory hall into a single, appealing whole: an inspiring example of how the industrial sector can become more sustainable.
